Week 2: Introduction

A little bit about me:
Jessica Basta, born and raised in a small town outside of Tampa, Palm Harbor, and now currently living in Gainesville for school. I am a second year Political Science / English major with minors in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Spanish. The family business lies in real estate, law, and our restaurant so family expansion is always a goal! However, I do plan on going to a good law school to receive my degree where I will practice either environmental, governmental, international, or entertainment law. The specific field I choose to go in will be certain later on now I just kind of have an idea. Although, I would love to practice as a lawyer long enough in the governmental sphere where I can earn a position as a judge and work with civil right issues as well as civil liberties.
I am the only girl amongst four other boys and my parents are both from Egypt. Things are always exciting with my family. I Love the outdoors especially bike rides and the beach and I love to travel. Live music & Festivals and camping are some of my favorite pastimes and I love animals, especially my German Shepard! I live for experiencing and trying new things and I love photography and writing as well.
As far as actual life experiences, I have traveled quite a bit. I recently went to Spain and South Africa and spent fall of freshman year studying abroad in Ireland. Other countries I have traveled to include Egypt, Costa Rica, London, Dominican Republic, Peru, Bahamas, Belize, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos Islands, Virgin Islands, and Zambia. Obviously traveling will continue to be a big part of my life as it is one of my most prized passions. To sum it all up, if you put me outside and give me a dog and a notebook, I'll be the happiest person!
