Week 13: My Exit Strategy

My Exit Strategy

Personally for me, an application idea is great during college and something that I have time for and want to feed into now, but I do not see it being a part of my future or the long run. Clear Vote is a great idea in my opinion but my exit strategy would be to get it going and build a sufficient medium and then sell it. Ideally, waiting 5 years to sell it is too long for me but I think 1 year is too short. I would hope to get it where I want it to be and profitable after 2 years and then right then sell it to an appropriate person who is interested and passionate in furthering the goals of Clear Vote. Once I have my college degree I plan to go to law school and I have no interest in continuing with an application. By looking at Clear Vote as a temporary opportunity and something that will not be a part of me forever, it has made me more realistic and logical when it comes to thinking about the app and all the linguistics. Since I am not looking in the long run there is no sentimental value or emotion involved. This is good and bad at the same time. Good because work is getting done without emotion involved, and bad because there is a lack of true, genuine passion that would arise in a situation or business that I see being a part of me forever. However, it is not part of the bigger picture for me.

  1. Hey Jessica,

I think you have a really good idea here and a solid understanding of what steps are necessary to take as you venture forward with your concept. It is important that you understood that your idea was only a temporary opportunity. By grasping this concept, you will be able to think in the short term and make decisions that will be the most profitable for your company. I think you will have a lot success in this venture and I would appreciate it if you took a look at my blog http://ethan2you.blogspot.com/

  2. Hey Jessica,
Im also planning on going to law school so i would definitely sell my company as well. With my career in mind and law school being my top priority, i think it would be great to start a successful company for the experience of it and then hopefully sell it off into the right hands. 3. Jessica,

I too am was thinking short-term on my idea, and am going to law school, albeit that the two are unrelated. I think that going short has its perks. Think about it, you get start over fresh all over again! If there is a good skill to know it's how to start a successful business. http://camivilla10.blogspot.com/2016/04/exit-strategy.html

  4. Hello Jessica,
I'm also planning to sell off my company if someone is willing to buy within 2-5 years. I think most founders are going this route these days because it's much easier than sticking it out for the long run. Good work on this assignment. http://flgatorblogging.blogspot.com
